Aliona Valeriya Kavanagh was born on May 1, 1984, in Kazakhstan but later she lived in Russia and the United States. She is a Russian Kazakh professional dancer. Aliona Vilani has been active since 2001. Her residence in the United States in Florida State.
Aliona Vilani Early life
Aliona started learning ballet when she was only 5 years old. She moved to Russia with her parents at the age of 9 and started ballroom dancing at the age of 12, continuing ballet.
In 1997, she was 13 years old, she shifted to the United States and joined the Kaiser Dance Academy in Brooklyn, New York. In 2001 she was part of the US Ballroom team for the National Dance Congress that won the Amateur Ballroom category.

Vilani started her professional life at the age of 17; she was the youngest dancer in the US to have done so. She has lived in Los Angeles since 2006, where she competed, performed and coached. The specialty of Vilani is that she is 10 Dance, and she is also an expert in Salsa, Hip Hop, and Jazz.
In 2008 to 2009 she emerged in Dancing with Stars Arena in the US. The following year she participated three times as a professional guest dancer on ’dancing with the stars’ in Hollywood.

Vilani first participated in the series 7 in 2009, where her partner was Rav Wilding, they both eliminated in week three following a dance-off with actress Lynda Bellingham and her dance partner was Darren Bennet.
In the year of 2010, she appeared for the first time on the live tour of ‘strictly come dancing’ where she has partner actor Ricky Groves. They did dance the American Smooth and the Pasco Doble. She also partnered Matthew Cutler in the professional dances. In April 2010 rehearsals began for the Strictly Come Dancing Professionals Tour in which she paired with Matthew Cutler. And two weeks later the opening night started the 12-week tour.

She returned for the 9th series of the show, where she and partner Harry Judd of the pop-rock band Mcfly went on to win the competition, by beating Chelsea Healey in the public vote and coming top in the final judge’s leaderboard. Vilani returned for the 12th series of Strictly Come Dancing, where she coupled with television presenter Johnny Ball. A training accident in the three-week interval resulted in torn ligaments for Vilani, due to which she had to quit the show temporarily and then she replaced by Lveta who with ball went on to eliminated in the first week. Vilani returned back in the final dance, she was again with Ball and later also participated 2012 Christmas Special, by paring with Fabrice Muamba.
In June 2013, the announcement made that Vilani would not be competing in series 11. On this, she reacted angrily stating that it was “not her decision to leave.” She planned to be on the show. In Sep 2013 it was reported that professional dancer Natalie faced a foot wound that would be replaced by Vilani. She paired for series 11 with championship golfer Tony Jacklin. But the couple was the first to be eliminated in week 2.
Vilani emerged in a short special edition of Strictly Come Dancing featuring Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, filmed in support of the BBC children in need of charity. The show aired on Nov 15, 2013. She also appeared on the 203 Christmas Special. Where her pair made with Matt Goss, they scored 35 for their American Smooth.

In Sep 2015, Vilani returned for the 13th series of the show, this time she paired with Jay McGuiness who is a singer. They won the Strictly Come Dancing final in Dec 2015, making her the first professional to win the show twice. After few days of win, Vilani announced that she would be returning to the series. Vilani and Jay then went on to do competition and win 2016 Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour.
