Susanna Reid Biography
Susanna Reid was born on Dec 10, 1970, in Croydon, Greater London, England. She is an English journalist and presenter best known as co-presenter of Good Morning Britain since 2014. Since April 2014, Reid has been part of the team on the ITV breakfast show Good morning Britain co-hosting alongside Piers Morgan and Ben Shephard. She got her education from the University of Bristol and Cardiff University. She has been active since 1982.
Susanna Reid Early life and education
The youngest of three daughters, Reid (born in Croydon, south London). She got her education from independent Croham Hurst school from 1975 to 1981, followed by the independent Croydon High School from 1981 to 1987 and then at St Paul’s Girls School from 1987 to 1989 in London. Her parents got divorced and separated when she was nine years old. Her father was a management consultant while her mother who was born in 1941, worked as a nurse.
Reid studied politics, Philosophy and Law at the University of Bristol from 1989 to 1992 where she was editor of Epigram, the student newspaper, which was shortlisted in 1991 as “Best Student Newspaper” in the Guardian Student Journalism awards. After that, she undertook a postgraduate diploma in Broadcast Journalism at the Cardiff School of Journalism.
She emerged as an actress while an adolescent, in a stage production of Agatha Christie’s Spider’s Web in 1982 with Shirley Anne Fields. And then alongside Peter Barkworth and Harriet Walter in ‘The price’ on channel 4 in 1985.
Susanna Reid Career
Reis started her career at BBC Radio Bristol and then she became a reporter for Radio 5 live, as well as a producer. She then joined BBC News 24, where she spent two years as a reporter. When the 23 presenters did not turn up one right, Reid became a stand-in presenter for an hour which turned into a permanent position. During this time she was pregnant with her first baby. Before going on maternity leave, she presented on BBC’s online interactive service. Reid became a reporter for “Breakfast News” in 1998. After a second maternity break, she became a presenter on the BBC News Channel.
Reid was one of the main presenters on BBC Breakfast, presenting with Bill Turnball on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays and previously presenting with the Charlie Stayt on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Susanna held that role from 2012 when she replaced the lead presenter Sian Williams.
In 2010, Reid stepped down from presenting Breakfast On Saturdays and Sundays to take a role on a new program Sunday Morning Live. As of the final episode of the first series on Nov 21, 2010. She resumed her weekend presenting duties at BBC Breakfast within two weeks. When BBC breakfast moved to MediaCityUK in Salford, Greater Manchester, the existing lead presenter, Sain Williams decided to stay in London on other programs so she could remain close to her children. In April 2012, Reid took Williams lead presenter role as the main weekday presenter opposite Bill Turnball.
She was also regular newsreader during headlines on “The Andrew Marr Show.” On May 16, 2010, she stood in briefly for Andrew Marr for the Sunday newspaper review, when he arrived late at the programs after interviewing PM David Cameron. Reid handed back to Marr following the paper review. She presented the main show for the first time on March 10, 2013, following Marr’s extended absence after suffering a stroke in JAN 2013. Also in 2009, Reid presented the BBC’s live coverage of the 2009 Oscars from Los Angeles and also presented coverage of the 2010 Oscars on March 7.
In Dec 2013, Reid was runner-up in the 11th series of Strictly Come Dancing where her professional partner was Kevin Clifton. She previously participated in “Children in Need Special” of the show, pairing with Robin Windsor and even she won it in Nov 2011.
In Dec 2013, she was also the presenter of New year Live program on BBC One, replacing Gabby Logan. She joined in presenting duties by Take That lead singer Gary Barlow, who performed a concert at Westminster Central Hall at the same time.
In Feb 2014, it reported that ITV was attempting to recruit Reid for their new breakfast program with 1 million salaries. Reid had previously rejected claims of moving to ITV in Dec 2013, during her stint of Strictly Come Dancing, claiming she would “bleed BBC” if she cut open.
In March 2014, the BBC confirmed the movement of Reid to ITV to front rival breakfast program Good Morning Britain, which replaced its former breakfast show Daybreak. She co-hosted the show with Ben Shephard and Piers Morgan every Monday to Thursday from 6:00 am to 8:30 am. It was not until Susanna began working with Morgan that Reid understood the real description of a love-hate relationship.

Dominic Cotton was her partner with whom she has three children. They got married in 1998.

She lives in Balham, south London. She married former sports correspondent Dominic Cotton in 1998. The; pair divorced in 2014 after six years of the marriage. They still live in the same house, even though Cotton has a girlfriend but Reid is single. Together they have 3 children that are sons.
Reis is a strong supporter of Crystal Palace, visiting the club’s Selhurst Park ground with her dance partner while taking part in Strictly Come Dancing.
Reid is a pescetarian, something she used to discuss often in her Saturday morning banter with chef James Martin. When she commenting on the dishes on his following program, Saturday Kitchen. She has also been voted into Zoo weekly’s top ten of Britain’s sexiest mums. And in 2013, she voted in FHM’s 100 sexiest women list.

Reid is a regular contributor to the Media Trust, a charity linking other charities to the media industry. And has hosted events for the Myotubular Trust and has Voluntary Arts England. In 1998, just before she became a reporter for Breakfast News, she worked for three months in Sri Lanka as a voluntary media consultant for a charity which counsels victims of the civil war and operates orphanages and social development programs
In April 2012, Reid took part in the London Marathon, collecting money for Sports Relief, completing the course in just over five hours.

In March 2k14, the television and Radio Industries Club named Reid Newsreader of the year at their annual awards. The week later after the announcement made that she would return to join ITV. In 2015, she again won the same award.
